Task 5 Research and visit a destination in Auckland.

I must tell you that this task made me really happy, even while I am writing this reflection of the task I still smile.Our destination of  group (Lynn, Judy, Xuan, Joanne, Imam and I) was Piha beach, but on the way Piha beach we stopped at Arataki Visitor Centre, also we passed Titirangi village as well.

First, last friday we all met at 10 o’clock at my home. Everybody reached here in time. I didn’t expect that people came my home in time, because in Korea we have ours own time which we call Korean time. That mean is usually, in Korea there are many traffic jams so most time and most people cannot handle their time. I was putting make up on me when they arrived. (make-up is very important to me^^, if I don’t have make-up on me you won’t recognize me) They had to wait for 5minute. I offered them any tea or coffee, but nobody wanted it.  If they wanted something I would love to gave them anything.

You can guess what, I haven’t started talking our trip yet. It’s going to be a long story for task5 as I mentioned you above that I was so exciting while doing our trip for this task.

Let me start to talk, Judy had brought her 7sets car so we all went in one car. 


Titirangi village is 2minute away from my house.   

We just had look the village in the car while passed the village because we was going to come and have coffee at Titiranigi village after  visited Piha beach, but we spent too much time in Piha beach and  at Arataki Visitor Centre, so couldn't stop there again.

Many people know that housing of Titirangi area is built within the native bush of the Waitakere Ranges.  Also there are some well known New Zealand artists live. (Musicians, artists, writers, potters)

Auckland's Regional Art Gallery

Auckland's Regional Art Gallery, located in Titirangi village, is a great place to explore New Zealand art.

 

The Arataki Visitor Centre is also very close to my house. It took us to get there only 7minute form Titirangi village. I felt so proud about where I live as an awesome place.  I have been there many times. I am a homestay mother,  when ever new homestay students arrive NZ we always take them to Arataki Visitor Centre and Phia beach. However this time I had spent the longest hours. I can say it was really exploring of Auckland. 

                                                                                            

  

Our group asked a guide whos name is Jane some information.  She was so kind lady.

She gave me a good impression by her kindness. She Showed us video of introduction of Waitakere ranges. After that we went for a bush walking it took us around 45 minute. 

We were so exhausted although really enjoyed. While on the way back we viedoed our feeling.

This was for the first time I had been there. Actually  I don.t like to walk but this trip wasn’t very hard it could be enjoyable because I had beautiful  people with me.

This is the large kauri it 600 years old. the Kauri live up to 2,000 years. I am really envy them.

 

Finally, we reach the Piha beach, which has beautiful scenery. Piha is one of Auckland's most famous west coast black sand beaches. 

Piha is a popular spot for swimmers and surfers but it is also a dangerous place as well. Some time the waves rose high and strong which could attack you, but if you are followed guidelines of SLS (Surf Life Saving) Clubs be sefed.  You might watch TV series 'Piha Rescue' on TV one.

Do you know that the movie which called Piano filmed at Piha beach? It directed by Jane Campion who is New Zealander. The actual place is Karekare beach it 10 minute away from Piha beach where we've been, but people still call that is Piha beach.

This exploring of Auckland made my mind wake up. I felt like this trip made me broad mind.
I was so happy not only visited wonderful places but also I've been there with beautiful friends Lynn, Judy, Xuan, Joanne, Imam. This is the most beautiful thing that I found.
Perhaps this trip will linger long in our memory. Thanks everybody..^^
If we have one other this kind of task, I would spend more time for our trip because this time we hadn't got enought time. Also I would love to have this kind of task again.^^
